Urgent Ventilator Support Needed for Baby of Manjula who is Born Premature
“My baby has been on the ventilator for five days. Through his nose and throat, tubes have been inserted to allow him to breathe and feed. I can’t even imagine the pain that my baby is enduring. When I held him for the first time, I never imagined that I would see him in such a painful condition. I keep standing by my baby as long as I can. When my baby wakes up, I just want him to see me and know that his mother is waiting for him. Although my legs give away, but what can be more important than being close to my baby,”
- Manjula, mother of the newborn

The happiness of the new parents’ didn’t last for even a day and now they are devastated
Since birth my baby has struggled breathing. I thought that my baby will become fine in a few days. But my baby’s condition was deteriorating so much that he had to be on ventilator support. He could no longer breathe on his own. My little baby can’t take so much pain. Without the ventilator support, he can’t live now.”
Mr. Somnath and Mrs. Manjula are the parents of the newborn baby. Manjula is a homemaker and she is staying in the hospital to take care of the newborn. However, she is staying back in the hospital hall since they cannot afford a room for themself. Mr. Somnath is the sole breadwinner for the family of 5 and with a monthly income of INR. 12,000 - INR. 13,000, it isn’t enough for the family’s survival and for the medication of the newborn. The baby needs NICU Stay for 20 - 25 days and the cost for it is beyond the means of the family. Now, you can play a part and save the life of the newborn by extending your support.

  • Medical Condition

Baby of Manjula is born on the 8th month of pregnancy with a weight of 1400 gms. The doctors have put the baby on Ventilator Support since the baby is suffering from Respiratory Distress. Stay for the baby for 20 - 25 days. The total estimated expenditure would be around INR. 3,23,000 (INR. 3.23 lacs only) which is more than which the family can afford.

With this family in such a situation; I would urge everyone to extend their support with whatever they can afford.
