Confirmed Diagnosis
Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) — 3.8mm, with left to right shunt. A blood vessel that connects two major heart arteries failed to close after birth. Oxygenated blood is being redirected back to the lungs instead of flowing to the body, placing continuous strain on the heart and lungs.
Recommended Treatment
PDA Device Closure — a minimally invasive cardiac procedure in which a small closure device is delivered through a catheter (thin tube) into the heart to permanently seal the open vessel. No open-heart surgery required.

Why This Cannot Wait
A PDA does not resolve on its own once a child is one year old — at this stage, spontaneous closure is no longer expected. Every month the opening remains, the heart and lungs absorb more strain. In time, this leads to pulmonary hypertension (dangerously high pressure in the lung arteries) and eventually irreversible heart damage.
Devika is one year old. She is at an ideal age for this procedure — old enough to safely undergo it, young enough that no permanent damage has yet occurred. This window needs to be used.
Gorakshanath drives his cab every day. Dipali manages everything at home. Together, they have navigated the hospital system, the paperwork, the doctors' appointments — all of it — on ₹5,833 a month.
They have reached the point where everything is in place. The hospital is ready. The surgeon is ready. The procedure that will give Devika a normal, healthy life is waiting.
