Confirmed Diagnoses

• Cerebral Palsy (CP) with West Syndrome — Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition affecting movement and muscle control due to brain damage occurring early in life. West Syndrome is a severe form of childhood epilepsy characterised by infantile spasms, abnormal brain wave patterns (hypsarrhythmia), and developmental regression.

• Spastic Quadriplegia — all four limbs are affected by increased muscle tone and stiffness, significantly limiting independent movement

• Epilepsy — ongoing seizure disorder managed with anti-epileptic medications; any gap in medication supply carries the risk of breakthrough seizures

• Vitamin B12 deficiency — confirmed on blood test (B12: 473.1 pg/mL, borderline); being monitored and supplemented

• Thyroid function under review — TSH within normal range (4.48 uIU/mL); Free T4 borderline low (1.73 pg/mL); clinical correlation advised.

  Current Treatment Requirements

  • Syp. Valproate (28mg/kg/day) — 6ml morning, 6ml evening — primary anti-epileptic medication to control seizures

  • Tab. Lamez 25mg (1-0-1) — second anti-epileptic medication for additional seizure control

  • Tab. Telsium 5mg (½-0-½) — muscle relaxant to reduce spasticity

  • Syp. MVBC 5ml OD — multivitamin and B-complex for nutritional support and nerve function

  • Syp. Cal-D 5ml twice daily — calcium and Vitamin D supplementation for bone health

  • Vitamin D drops 1ml OD — additional Vitamin D support

  • Syp. Paracetamol (PCM) — for fever management as required

  • Syp. CPM — antihistamine for symptomatic relief as required

  • Dietary advice: eggs, sprouts, paneer, tofu — for protein and nutritional support

  • Regular follow-up at Pediatric Neurodevelopment OPD, Dr. R.N. Cooper Hospital
