Mother's Nightmare: Premature Baby Surviving on CPAP, Cannot Afford Care

My Twin Baby Is Dying, and I Can't Afford to Save Him!

My name is Madhuri. Twenty-one days ago, I gave birth to twins in Nimai's Borneo Hospital in Nashik. For those first few hours, I felt like the luckiest woman alive. Two perfect babies. My husband cried with joy. My mother-in-law started making lists of names for our relatives. We had already arranged a small corner in our home for them.

  • Location

    Nashik, Maharashtra

  • Medical Condition

My son has Respiratory Distress Syndrome. His lungs are not fully developed because he was born premature-weeks before he was supposed to come. His body can't produce enough of a substance called surfactant that allows his lungs to expand and contract properly.

Right now, he's on CPAP support (a special breathing machine). He's on IV antibiotics because he has an infection. He's being fed through a tube in his nose because he's too weak to suck or swallow.

The doctors told us: "He needs to stay in NICU for at least 8 to 10 weeks. Without continuous intensive care, he won't survive. With care, there's hope."

    There's hope.

    I hold onto that word.

But there's a problem. Hope is expensive. And I'm running out of money.

We need ₹1,25,000 to complete his NICU treatment for the remaining 8-10 weeks.

This money will go directly to:

    • NICU daily care charges: ₹15,000/day × 60 days (minimum)

    • Medications, IV support, and antibiotics

    • Medical tests and continuous monitoring

    • Emergency care if complications arise

Every rupee you donate saves another day of his life.

We've already proven we can manage some of this ourselves. We've sold what we can. We've borrowed from everyone we know. We've sacrificed everything we have.

    Now we're asking you.

Please don't let money be the reason my son dies while we're desperate to save him.

I don't know what else to do. I've done everything a mother can do. I've sold my gold. I've borrowed from my family. I've prayed every night. My son is doing everything he can to survive. He's fighting for his life.

    Now it's your turn.

Please fight with us. Please be the reason my baby comes home. Please be the reason my twins grow up together.

We will never forget you. My son will grow up knowing that strangers—kind, compassionate strangers—believed his life was worth saving.

Thank you for fighting for my baby.

    Dear Donors,

    Here’s an important update.

My son was diagnosed with Respiratory Distress Syndrome. His lungs were not fully developed because he was born premature—weeks before he was supposed to arrive. His body couldn’t produce enough of a substance called surfactant, which allows the lungs to expand and contract properly.

He was on CPAP support (a special breathing machine). He was given IV antibiotics to fight infection and was fed through a tube because he was too weak to suck or swallow.

The doctors had told us: “He needs to stay in NICU for at least 8 to 10 weeks. Without continuous intensive care, he won’t survive. With care, there’s hope.”

    There was hope.
And we held onto that word.

But hope came at a cost. We were struggling to arrange the required amount for his complete NICU treatment, including daily care, medications, tests, and emergency support.

We sold what we could. We borrowed from everyone we knew. We did everything possible as parents.

And then, something truly life-changing happened.

With your support, prayers, and timely medical care, our baby has now been successfully discharged from the hospital. He is stable and continues his recovery at home under medical guidance.

Your generosity became the reason our child survived. Every contribution, every prayer, and every kind thought gave him another chance to live.

We cannot express our gratitude enough. You didn’t just help us financially—you gave our baby a future. You gave our family hope, strength, and a second chance at life.

Our baby will grow up knowing that kind, compassionate people stood by him when he needed it the most.

Thank you for fighting for our baby.
We will forever remain grateful and keep you in our prayers.
