“My baby is just 7 months old… and he’s fighting to stay alive.
He was born too early… too weak. And now, he’s suffering from Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome and weighs only 790 gms. We’ve admitted him to KEM Hospital, Pune, where he’s surrounded by machines, unable to breathe properly on his own. Every time I see him, I feel my heart breaking into a million pieces. No mother should have to watch her child suffer like this.
I’m Kalpana, his mother. I stay at home to care for our family. My husband, Pandurang, works as a clerk and brings home just ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 a month. It’s barely enough to manage food, rent, and the basics. And now, our son’s condition needs urgent treatment, something we simply can’t afford.
We haven’t been told the final cost yet, but we already know it’s far beyond what we could ever manage. And that’s the hardest part, wanting to save your child but not having the means to do so.
I’m sharing this with you, not as a formal request, but as a mother’s desperate plea. Please help us save our son. Even the smallest contribution can bring him one step closer to life… to healing… to coming home in my arms again.”
With folded hands and a heart full of hope,
Kalpana, mother of a 7-months-old premature baby
