“My name is Sabana, and I never imagined that before my daughter’s first birthday, I would be pleading for her life. Shafiya is just 11 months old, a little baby who should be learning to stand, laugh, and explore the world. Instead, she is fighting for every heartbeat.
Doctors at KIMS Manavata Hospital, Nashik have told us that my baby has a serious heart condition,a medium-sized hole in her heart’s wall. Because of this, blood is flowing in the wrong way, putting extra pressure on the lungs and the right side of the heart. If untreated, it can cause breathing issues, repeated infections, and slower growth. They have advised an early surgical closure to save her life.
We are a poor family from a small village in Uttar Pradesh. My husband is a daily wage worker, and we barely manage to feed our children with his small income. The surgery costs around ₹2,75,000, an amount far beyond what we could ever dream of affording.
As a mother, I feel helpless. Every time I look at Shafiya, I wonder if I will get to see her grow, call me “Ammi,” or take her first steps. I do not want to lose her just because we cannot arrange money for her treatment.
With folded hands, I am begging you, please help us. Your kindness and generosity can give my daughter the gift of life. Even a small contribution will take us one step closer to saving her.
Please don’t let her little heart stop beating.”
With folded hands and a heart full of hope,
Sabana, mother of 11-Months-Old Shafiya
