“It is very heart wrenching to see my baby suffering all the pain from the moment she was born. Born premature and my baby had already gone through the knife once and again she has to… for her survival…When I fed her milk for the first time, she started gasping for breath abnormally and choked herself and vomited all of it. We were scared and Upon observation, doctors found that my baby’s wind tube and food tube has some abnormality and it has to be operated otherwise my baby wouldn’t survive. We didn’t give it a second thought and got the surgery done. All our savings got exhausted! And our baby needs a NICU stay before the second surgery could start. Please save my baby.”

What is tracheoesophageal fistula?
Normally, the esophagus (the tube that connects the throat to the stomach) and the trachea (the tube connecting the throat to the windpipe and lungs) are separate. A tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) is an abnormal connection between these two tubes.
