“My name is Durga Shankar Dalvi, and I’m reaching out with a mother’s trembling heart, asking for help to save my 10-year-old son, Kiran. Every parent dreams of their child’s bright future, of seeing them grow, learn, and thrive. But today, that dream has turned into a nightmare as I watch my son’s life shattered, just like his right hand, after a tragic accident with a firecracker.
Just this morning, he asked me to rest, told me he’d already cleaned the house and would take care of the dishes after playing. He’s only 10 years old, yet he already understands the value of helping our family. But when he came running back, his hand was torn and covered in blood—I was paralyzed, barely able to breathe. I don’t remember how long I stood there in shock until he tore a piece of my saree, tied it around his bleeding hand, and softly said, “Aai, don’t worry. I’ll be okay.” Even in his pain, he tried to bring me back, showing his courage and love.
But now, all my strength rests in the hands of kind strangers, as Kiran urgently needs surgery to save his hand. Without it, he might lose not just his hand, but the chance to work, support himself, and help us as he dreams of doing.
Pledge Foundation has stepped in to support us, and we are humbly appealing to anyone who can help. Please, lend a hand so my son can have his back, so he can live the life he deserves, unbroken and with hope. Every bit of help counts. Please help us give Kiran a chance to heal and grow”
