My name is Poonam, and I am the mother of Durgesh, my two-year-old son—my world, my everything.
Just a few days ago, our life turned into a nightmare.
Durgesh was playing outside our house. I was busy with chores inside, and my husband had gone to work. Like any child, Durgesh was full of life, curiosity, and innocence. But while playing near our chulha (traditional stove), he tripped and fell onto a container of boiling hot water. Before I could even reach him, his tiny body was covered in burns.
We rushed him to Raddiant Plus Hospital, Nashik, where doctors told us he had 45% to 60% burns. He’s been in the hospital since April 3rd, going through multiple surgeries—debridement, skin grafting, and more ahead. The doctors are doing everything to save him… but I’m terrified.
The hospital bills have already crossed ₹2,00,000—a sum my husband is a daily wage labourer, earning barely ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 a month and we can’t even dream of managing. Every day we delay, every rupee we can’t pay, risks Durgesh’s life.
I beg you, from one human to another—please help me save my son.
Your support could bring back my son’s smile, his laughter… his life.
With folded hands and a heart full of hope,
Poonam, mother of 2-Year-old Durgesh
