Pledge Foundation Donation Refund Policy
Pledge Foundation takes the utmost care to process donations as per the instructions given by our donors, online and offline.
However, in case of an unlikely event of an erroneous donation or if the donor would like to cancel his donation, Pledge Foundation will respond to the donor within 7 working days of receiving a valid request for a refund from the donor.
The timely refund of the donation will depend upon the type of credit card/banking instrument used during the transaction.
The donor will have to send Pledge Foundation a written request for a refund within 2 days of making the donation to Pledge Foundation’s official address or email indiandonors@pledgefoundation.org along with-
Pledge Foundation has instituted a donation refund policy to ensure fair and transparent processing of requests for refund of donations as digital payments are becoming more frequent. Pledge Foundation expects that all donors will exercise due care and diligence while making donations. Pledge Foundation also recognizes that a donation may be made erroneously or donors may change their minds. Pledge Foundation will examine the request for a refund of the donation and endeavor to make the refund. Pledge Foundation may also seek proper explanation and reason from the user. Also, it will require further verification of the user and need documents of proof as well as for donation.
Pledge Foundation is not obliged to make refunds and may, in its discretion, decline any requests for refund of donations, particularly if a tax exemption certificate has been issued. If you would like your donation to be refunded, then do not claim the tax exemption by entering your details. If you haven’t claimed tax exemption and need the refund then you must request Pledge Foundation in writing or by email for a refund at the following address:-

Your refund request must contain the details such as Date of Donation, Amount of Donation, Mode of Donation i.e. Credit Card or Online Payment, and should reach Pledge Foundation office within 7 (Seven) days from the date on which you made the donation
I.e.: The date on which you Made the donation online, electronically or through other means,
OR
The date on which you Handed over the cheque/demand draft to Pledge Foundation or someone authorized by Pledge Foundation for this purpose,
OR
The date on which you Despatched the cheque/demand draft to Pledge Foundation by other means.
The refund process may take time 7 to 30 working days depending on the availability of the information from third parties such as Payment Gateway, Banks, etc. through which the transaction is done.
As per clause (viii) and (ix) of sub-section (5) of Section 80G of the Income Tax Act introduced with effect from 1st April 2021,
Pledge Foundation (Reg as Pratijnya Foundation) (the Donee) will file “Statement of Donations received” (in Form No. 10BD) having details of donors and donations received and will be issuing the Certificates to the donors (in Form No.10BE) having details of the donee, details of donor and details of donation received during the financial year, on or before 31st May immediately following the financial year in which the donation is received. As per the aforesaid provisions, deduction on account of the donation under Section 80G shall be allowed to the donor only on the basis of the Statement of Donations filed by the Donee, based on which details of the donation will appear in the Income Tax Return of the Donor to claim deduction under section 80G
